With some delay the RIPE network learned about the death of Jean (Jenny) Olson Lanjouw. Jenny, aged 43, died on 1 November 2005 at her home in Wahington. She undisputedly belonged to one of the foremost scholars in the IPR research arena. Her seminal papers strongly influenced the research of several members of this network. Her loss is deeply felt in the scientific community of IPR researchers. Those who had the pleasure of meeting with and learning from Jenny will also miss her as a wonderful person. We mourn over her death.
